There are 107 two-letter words in the NASPA Word List 2023 (used in the United States and Canada) and 127 in Collins Scrabble Words 2024 (used everywhere else). Memorising them is the single highest-value thing a Scrabble player can do: they let you play parallel to existing words, score in two directions at once, and get rid of a stubborn Q, X or Z.
